About Us

Engineering-led micro turbine propulsion

HK Turbines is a manufacturer of micro turbojet engines covering 4.5 kgf to 200 kgf of thrust. We design, machine, assemble and hot-test every engine in-house, and supply complete technical data packages so integrators can qualify our engines on their own platforms quickly and confidently.

Our Capability

Fourteen models, one consistent engineering standard

Rather than adapting hobby-class turbojets upward, we build each model around a defined design point and publish the measured result. That means matched compressors and turbines, characterised idle behaviour, documented accel/decel response, and a 60-hour service life with a 25-hour first-overhaul interval across the range.

For platforms that need onboard power, the HK-400B and HK-800B integrate an engine-driven generator supplying DC 28 V ±1.2 V at up to 650 W and 1,200 W respectively — no separate alternator, no extra weight budget line.

Quality

How we build and verify every engine

Consistency between units is what makes fleet-level integration practical. Our process is built around that goal.

Precision manufacture

Rotating assemblies are balanced and dimensionally verified before assembly. Compressor and turbine matching is set per design point, not adjusted ad hoc.

Hot-run acceptance

Every engine is hot-tested. Thrust, RPM, exhaust gas temperature and fuel flow are recorded at maximum and idle states against the published specification.

Documented delivery

Each unit ships with its test record, the model specification sheet, interface details and operating guidance for fuel, oil and starting procedures.

Common Standards

Shared across the whole range

Design point

H = 0 km, Ma = 0, ambient temperature 15 °C, ambient pressure 101,325 Pa. All published figures refer to this condition.

Fuel & oil

Aviation kerosene or diesel blended with 5% turbine oil. Recommended lubricating oil: Mobil Jet Oil II.

Starting

Electric-starter or fuel-based starting on every model, with start times from under 40 s to under 80 s and start altitude up to 4,500 m.

Response

Acceleration in under 6 s and deceleration in under 8 s, from idle to maximum and back, on all models.
