Why HK Turbines

Propulsion you can build a platform around

Every engine ships with a complete technical data package, so your integration team can move from first bench run to first flight without surprises.

Wide thrust range

Fourteen production models spanning 4.5 kgf to 200 kgf, sharing common start logic and fuel interfaces to simplify fleet-level integration.

Documented performance

Full spec sheets: thrust, SFC, airflow, pressure ratio, idle characteristics and altitude envelope — measured at a defined design point, not estimated.

Electric or fuel start

Every model supports both electric-starter and fuel-based starting, with start times under 40–80 s and start altitudes up to 4,500 m.

Generator options

Selected models (HK-400B, HK-800B) integrate an onboard generator delivering DC 28 V ±1.2 V at up to 650 W / 1,200 W for avionics and payloads.

Engine Line-up

Three classes. One production line.

Pick the thrust class that matches your airframe. Full parameters and side-by-side comparison are on the products page.

HK-45A micro turbojet engine, 4.5 kgf thrust

HK-45A Micro class

Thrust 4.5 kgf Ø60 × 165 mm 0.54 kg total

Our smallest production turbojet — 225,000 rpm, 0.125 kg/s airflow — for miniature target drones and research platforms.

HK-400A micro turbojet engine, 40 kgf thrust

HK-400A Mid class

Thrust 40 kgf Ø148 × 319 mm 4.02 kg total

The workhorse of the range. 0–8,000 m envelope, 0.8 Mach, with an optional 650 W generator variant (HK-400B).

HK-2000A micro turbojet engine, 200 kgf thrust

HK-2000A Heavy class

Thrust 200 kgf Ø295 × 690 mm 29.0 kg total

Flagship large engine: 200 kgf thrust, 4.6 pressure ratio, service ceiling to 16,000 m and Mach 0.95.

Applications

Where our engines fly

From sub-5 kg research airframes to 200 kgf-thrust high-speed platforms, HK engines are integrated across a broad range of unmanned and experimental aircraft.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What thrust range do HK engines cover?

Fourteen production models from 4.5 kgf (HK-45A) up to 200 kgf (HK-2000A). Mid-range models include 40, 45, 65, 80, 105, 120 and 160 kgf variants, so most airframes can be matched without custom development.

What fuel and oil do the engines use?

Aviation kerosene or diesel blended with 5% turbine oil. Recommended lubricating oil is Mobil Jet Oil II. Both electric-starter and fuel-based starting are supported on every model.

What is the service life and overhaul interval?

Total service life is 60 hours with a 25-hour first-overhaul (TBO) interval across the range. Accel/decel response is 6 s / 8 s on all models.

Do you offer onboard power generation?

Yes. The HK-400B provides DC 28 V ±1.2 V at up to 650 W, and the HK-800B provides DC 28 V ±1.2 V at up to 1,200 W, suitable for powering avionics and payload systems in flight.

How high and how fast can they operate?

Depending on model: operating altitudes from 6,000 m up to 16,000 m, maximum flight Mach number from 0.6 to 0.95, and maximum self-start altitude of 4,500 m.

Can I get a sample unit for integration testing?

Yes. We supply evaluation units for bench runs and airframe integration. Contact our sales engineers with your platform requirements and we will propose the right model and lead time.

Need thrust numbers for your airframe?

Send us your platform mass, speed and altitude targets — our engineers will recommend the right model and share the full technical data package.
